You people don’t appreciate nothing…. Here it is a free internet game… Have any of you ever had to work out the problems on a computer ? It’s a pain in the ass…. With WIN 98 I was constantly wiping the hard drive and deleting problematic programs in the software..These folks are busting hump, investing their own money… and look at ya’ll… whining and complaining… you should check yourselves… ya’ll are way out of line…
I’m having the same problem as everyone else, I guess, I’ve tried to log into my account, and it says “Couldn’t log in as”. Thought it might have been just my faulty memory, and hit password recovery, it tells me that
“You’ve entered an incorrect user/email combination.”
What are you folks trying to do? completely kill the game?
On the login page under “Info” it says the game is from Nov 10 (Monday) - January. The blog says “tomorrow” (Sunday), “later today” (Saturday), and in a couple of hours (Saturday).
Like everything else in life, it just ain’t fair! It’ll get here when it gets here.

On a side-note to everyone saying: “Utopia is free, you cannot complain”.
It’s not “free”. We pay with our time and they receive ad revenue with our time. They make a profit out of your time. You have no reason to feel bad about criticizing. Utopia plays a part in my life and I enjoy playing it. I imagine it does the same for many others. In some degree one does have a responsibility in setting up the game correct. Especially considering the long history of Utopia and everything Mehul has done to make this game such a success.
-First and foremost, nothing is free, they wouldn’t run this game if it wasn’t profitable. Advertising pays for this game, just one way includes everytime you click those ads iotherwise putting money in their pockets.
-Second, get your act together! If it’s going to be late you put the most possible latest date the game will be out!

how do you foresee bugs in a computer ?….. I think ya’ll are just losers who are going through withdrawl for your Utopia game and looking to pick a fight. I have played for the last 10 years and am ready to start a new age too… but dang…. go walk around the block or shoot some vodka into your arm… or even better go break your virginity…. Relax….
I think people are just wqorries, I can’t even get into the log in screen and I am afraid to to create a new account in fear of loosing my old one and loosing my kingdom. There were no instructions anywhere about what to do… Do we need to create a new account, Usually we just need to log in and it takes us to a register page and connects us to the kingdom.
We all just want some direction wioth how not only to log on to the game, but to get back to our teams

I used my same account name and password and created a new account.
When I try to migrate it tells me that my account couldn’t be found.
Any solution will be avaliable or my old account has gone? I am not asking this to flame, just want to know what to do…

I am trying to migrate the account as well. Apparently migrating your old account still is not working. Hopefully OMAC will have this up by later tonight or at least by tomorrow. If this isn’t fixed soon, looks like another push back might be occurring.
Yes I do thank them for leting this game to be free but any one that has been in programing knows befor puting out any software you test and retest each an every block befor you put it out for use. Try writting soft ware for the GOV. I know I did it for years and if you did not test it you may not have that 100k job. They knew when the end of the age was they should have been ready.
well, i create a new account, GNOME/ROGUE, well the thing is that into the game i finish beeing Homan! There’s an announcement that says game will start in 26 hours.
Ohh and on the top top they add a NW/Acre and an ACRES tab next to old NW tab.
but what’s the deal with the race!
PD The account was created tottally from scratch, no trade-in, no migrate, just new account and new province.
how are you all even getting there? i cannot get to the login page, my old link always says 404 object errror or something, and when i click to sign up it says continue onwards…then no link or anything….
My usename cannot be found and if I try to reset password it says that my username/email don’t match or something like that. So I guess, for now, I am dead in the water.

OMAC will tell us the status when servers and game is up and running as it should… If you read the old homepage of Utopia you see that the game wount start until the 10th of Nov so you will have lots of time to get your old account in game before it starts..

Managed to login successfully, but couldn’t choose my leader name Eagle Eye, error message says there are invalid characters. So what’s wrong with a name like that?

u are the loser….and yes its a free game but without us there would be no game and sponsors so as far as withdraw….i do not crave ur thoughts so post else where and as little as mehul informed us it was always proper…omac says things then cant keep up to there word…now all these changes…when we all know we were cheating and complained that we were playing for yrs now u get what u get so lump it as for as al bundy back off..

I’m now able to get in but there are a couple issues I’m realising when I get to the “setup province” page:
- there is no submit button
- the provinces and names are wayyyy to restrictive - I count 20 characters? what the heck!
I never thought i would say this but i miss Mehul. You guys are going to chase away all the players before you get this back up. you a ruining a great game!!!
As with Julito, I created an account from scratch- an elf war hero, and all went well till I arrived in the kingdom where I discovered I am a human merchant! Not what I wanted or asked for.
Guess I’ll reset it (again) and see what happens
ah well,… it could be lots worse, ‘They’ could have closed Utopia for a month while they worked out all the changes.
Creating a new account might work but what about all the players that wanted to stay with their Kingdom. Im not whinging Im more than willing to wait for the game to be up and ready before I play, communication is what is lacking. But I am sure OMAC is doing all it possibly can trying to get the game up and running, what we see is nothing compared to the work that goes into making these games run for hundreds of thousands of players.
We need to be patient so they get this right the first time.

Growing pains guys - this is their first time doing this. They are probably focusing on developing the base infrastructure now so they wont have to deal with all this bs in the future.

Well I got into as far into my old kingdom BUT………….When i was about to choose my province name and Race……….. I COULD NOT FIND THE SUBMIT BUTTON………. anyone has this problem???
the solution is to stop creating new accounts for now while hoping and praying you get to stay with your kingdom. if it fails just like what happened to the others who posted above me, then that’s your fault.
congratulations. you just gave OMAC more problems and delaying all of us by looking into your accounts that got lost somewhere in the process when you all know it doesn’t work properly yet.
just wait til they give the heads up that everything’s clear. there’s no need to rush. we all have to wait. what’s a few hours difference like when you get OOP first and everyone else isn’t.
When I was logged in, finally (had to delete the spaces in my prov and ruler name), I tried to reset my account, but couldn’t find a button to confirm changes…
the problem i have is that i dont know what i put in for my real name part when i first made my file :(
i want them to put me in with my friends again i miss them so much. i am trying to call them also but its always busy signal dam it ^_^
they should of had alot of time to fix all this crap before they released the game. i bet nobody is getting on the game right now. this is so annoying they should be alot better at this. if they are going to take over a game research it first so u know what ur doing!
Oy, they got the game up somewhat.
Everyone needs to create a new account.
Once you have a new account set up you then select migrate account once you log in if you chose stay with kingdom last age. Once migrate is selected you must enter your old user name and password to have your old account transfered. Once you have done that you can get into the game. Thats as far as you will get at this time though. Once you transfer your account and log in it says choose province name and race/personality. OMAC never added a continue button after you selcet province name,race/personality. So once they add that then we can all actually get into the game and use the in game forums to find out who is all still playing.
If you choose SIGN UP and create a new province then you will be directed to the NEW acount maintenance screen that holds all of your swirve accounts for WOL and GENISIS. Simply use the same username and password as before and it will put you back in your previous Kingdom. If it holds you at the throne page then they have not finished your programming yet.
The lack of communication on the subject of account migration / re-creation was non-existant, and it strikes me as a very unprofessional thing to do.
If some DBA wanted to really reduce the size of the DB, he could have found a better solution… This will just leave a sour taste, and should events like this one occur in the future, you shouldn’t be surprised if you will bleed players.
You have to create a new account, you can’t login with your old usernames. Once you have done that, it will ask you if you chose to stay with your kd, and if so, you click migrate, and it will then ask you for your old username and password, and your account will be added.
I got in, it appears that the game changes are not implemented yet for this age, Dark Elf elites still cost 1000 and the ingame guide reflects all the old stuff, hopefully the changes are implemented or I’m screwed with my Dark Elf / Rogue.

but the trade system doesnt work yet
so i cant get him in to our kd.

Please note that with the server switch, Utopia is now operating in GMT! There is also a new utopian guide here - in game links will be updated to reflect this, over the next couple of days.
Patience, patience people. OMAC has successfully ceated a new Utopia but it is taking time for everything to kick in. the post just above explains it. you will not be able to simply login with your old stuff. you need to create a new account first. then you can chose migrate (after you activate) your old account. piece of cake once people started figuring it out
ive still yet to receive an email, and when i use my bookmarked page it takes me to the login but goes to a removed page. gonna be hard to stick to the strategy we came up with last age for this age if everyone has to start a new account.
and as for the site being free…i paid for lifetime platinum service so i have in fact paid to play.
why do i get the feeling they lost alot of peoples email/account info when they did the reset, it would explain why most of the people in my kingdom have not received any emails
I never received mail regarding my old account nor starting new age. Seems like the data from “keep me with this kingdom” option is missing.
I guess might have to play with new account. =/

Irrespective of transfer (or even account creation) working or not, which seems to be rather different from person to person, and the results are also rather unclear, shouldnt omac be trying to clarify some if this stuff rather than post some vague messages with conflicting starting times, while the people trying to login figure out all kinds of ways to try and get their kingdoms back together.
If they apparently can’t handle setting up a new age, why’d they switch to a new server right away as well? Allthough I wouldnt go as far as calling them stupid as some above have, I do not think this whole affair is very well thought out, or worked out

Everyone wanna start playing and everyone wants the best start of age there for the freezetime is essentiel, and so is the information you give.
In our KD we have not yet seen any problems with migrating the old accs, however we are still seeing other bugs, like the race/pers changes that haven’t taken effect and the trading system that is still not up, we have one guy we like to trade in fast.
another thing that worries me is that the game seems to start in a very short time (and i mean the real age not just the freezetime).
to everyone that still haven’t got it:
1. make a new game account, using the email of your like (could be your plat mail).
2. you will get a mail with a link to activate your account, now click it and you will be able to login to your game account.
3. you here have an option called “migrate” click on it and write your old user and pw from last age, your game account will now be migrated with your old account.
4. you can now login to your account, migrated from last age.
5. there is still some bugs that needs to be fixed, waiting for OMAC, patiently, they are doing a good and hard work, so give them some space please…
Who says they are doing good (and hard) work? Maybe people for whom this new system does work don’t post, but I see a lot of people posting they are alone in a kd, like I am as well, and some even that kd mates who were supposed to ‘migrate’ with them are in different places. Considering I’m not usually the first in the kd, that suggests to me something went wrong. The fact people can login to some account in some kingdom does not mean they were put in the place they chose to be as per the option supplied at the age end.
I would also like to see some kind of explanation why the sign up process needs to be complicated to the level it is now, but that is more out of personal interest.
Meanwhile I’ll just hope they get their act together. If that means restarting or resetting back to the old server, resulting in delay, fine with me but some (accurate) infomation about what is going on and what they are doing to fix the errors would be nice.
Hey guys, I’m with you on this. Some of you are at least getting messages, though. However; the game doesn’t start until the start of Monday (Midnight), so I think that we can all wait a few more hours until these guys (the administrators) can ensure that there are going to be minimal glitches in the game this age. That being said, i am still a little annoyed because I wish to get back in contact with my old KD and start getting my build set up. But it ain’t going to kill me to do it in the morning either. Just be patient and all will be put in it’s right place on time, I’m sure.
Game News
The game is up now, and has been reset - in-game activation emails will be sent out tomorrow. In light of the delays, freeze time is to be extended for another 24 hours.
The changes posted on the forums have not been put live in-game yet - I wanted to minimise possible complications for the switch - so some of the numbers you’ll see are incorrect at the moment - however, these will all be corrected before protection starts. The new guide is floating around, but it hasn’t been finalised yet, so not all information there is accurate - please see my post for the correct numbers - and note, elves don’t have fog!
Also of note, any provinces currently in the game will not be deleted - the game was reset previously, but won’t need to be reset again.
New Login Process
When you login now, you must first create and login to a master account. Once that is created you then migrate your old province (previously referred to as your account) to your new master account. After this, your province is then accessed via the master account. If you are creating a new province, you must also create a master account, and once logged into that, you create from there.
Step by Step
1) Go to Main page
2) Click Account login
3) Click Sign up (top right corner) and fill in all Fields
- Note that the e-mail address used for your master account will also be automatically used for your province, if a different e-mail address was used for your province previously.
4) Activate via the email sent to you
5a) To create a new province (i.e. not transferring), click Add game account
5b) To trade into a kingdom, click Trade-in
5c) To transfer a province from last round, click Migrate
6) Once you’ve acquired a province by either of the above options, click “Login main account”

I do however have a suggestion. People might have an easier time of it if the white text boxes had a color font other than white. Like maybe black? I had to highlight each box to view what I had typed to make sure it was right.

Monarch options for account trading/moving are not functional yet - this will be fixed first thing tomorrow. If you experience other problems, please report them on the Bugs forum and they will be handled expediently. Thank you for your patience.

Al Bundy - This site may be “free” to the user.. but do not fool yourself that it is anything other than a money maker for the owners. the advertising revenue from the site is likely to be pretty high otherwise they wouldn’t bust their hump in the first place.
And a little more info about the whole “migration” system would have been a better idea than just leaving everyone expecting the same old reset procedure.
Well, so I created a new account, and entered my province name, race/pers. etc. And clicked create. The name was not acceptable because it had spaces in it. So I changed the name to the same thing without spaces. When I clicked create it reset my personallity and race, to human/merchant. So I deleted the account, but now it won’t let me make another because it thinks my email is already tied to an existing game account.
u go in preferences and reset ur account! then u can fix it from doing that to ur race personality!!!

i been writing with roisin and he put in my recomindations. the freeze time is extended for another 24 hours now to give more time to get in everyone in the game who is having problems.
and now on the main log on page has the step by step process to get migrated.
if u still have a problem getting in the game write omac a msg saying ur problem and they will solve it.

i cant log in either, filled out the sign up, had it emailed with activation code, and still says cant log in as xxxx…… have been playing for 3 years under same username and password, im gonna give this 1 more day then im gone for good…!!!!!!
Whats the big deal with the change, it was good with the previous process, its even darker now… Ive been playing like almost 6 years now… This problem should be acted accordingly, i had already migrate and activated my account and im like sitting duck here…
Whats with this cgi error and the your monarch request crap. It’s wasting away my protection hours and i can’t log in are we going to be credited back the hours lost for the duration of solving this problem?

On a side-note to everyone saying: “Utopia is free, you cannot complain”.
It’s not “free”. We pay with our time and they receive ad revenue with our time. They make a profit out of your time. You have no reason to feel bad about criticizing. Utopia plays a part in my life and I enjoy playing it. I imagine it does the same for many others. In some degree one does have a responsibility in setting up the game correct. Especially considering the long history of Utopia and everything Mehul has done to make this game such a success.

I think people are just wqorries, I can’t even get into the log in screen and I am afraid to to create a new account in fear of loosing my old one and loosing my kingdom. There were no instructions anywhere about what to do… Do we need to create a new account, Usually we just need to log in and it takes us to a register page and connects us to the kingdom.
We all just want some direction wioth how not only to log on to the game, but to get back to our teams

I am trying to migrate the account as well. Apparently migrating your old account still is not working. Hopefully OMAC will have this up by later tonight or at least by tomorrow. If this isn’t fixed soon, looks like another push back might be occurring.

Yes I do thank them for leting this game to be free but any one that has been in programing knows befor puting out any software you test and retest each an every block befor you put it out for use. Try writting soft ware for the GOV. I know I did it for years and if you did not test it you may not have that 100k job. They knew when the end of the age was they should have been ready.

well, i create a new account, GNOME/ROGUE, well the thing is that into the game i finish beeing Homan! There’s an announcement that says game will start in 26 hours.
Ohh and on the top top they add a NW/Acre and an ACRES tab next to old NW tab.

OMAC will tell us the status when servers and game is up and running as it should… If you read the old homepage of Utopia you see that the game wount start until the 10th of Nov so you will have lots of time to get your old account in game before it starts..
Just hit the breaks people and wait for clarification from OMAC!!

As with Julito, I created an account from scratch- an elf war hero, and all went well till I arrived in the kingdom where I discovered I am a human merchant! Not what I wanted or asked for.
Guess I’ll reset it (again) and see what happens

Creating a new account might work but what about all the players that wanted to stay with their Kingdom. Im not whinging Im more than willing to wait for the game to be up and ready before I play, communication is what is lacking. But I am sure OMAC is doing all it possibly can trying to get the game up and running, what we see is nothing compared to the work that goes into making these games run for hundreds of thousands of players.
We need to be patient so they get this right the first time.

1. First create a new account.
2. When confirmed press “migrate” old account and fill the forms.

the solution is to stop creating new accounts for now while hoping and praying you get to stay with your kingdom. if it fails just like what happened to the others who posted above me, then that’s your fault.
congratulations. you just gave OMAC more problems and delaying all of us by looking into your accounts that got lost somewhere in the process when you all know it doesn’t work properly yet.

Oy, they got the game up somewhat.
Everyone needs to create a new account.
Once you have a new account set up you then select migrate account once you log in if you chose stay with kingdom last age. Once migrate is selected you must enter your old user name and password to have your old account transfered. Once you have done that you can get into the game. Thats as far as you will get at this time though. Once you transfer your account and log in it says choose province name and race/personality. OMAC never added a continue button after you selcet province name,race/personality. So once they add that then we can all actually get into the game and use the in game forums to find out who is all still playing.

Simply use the same username and password as before and it will put you back in your previous Kingdom. If it holds you at the throne page then they have not finished your programming yet.

The lack of communication on the subject of account migration / re-creation was non-existant, and it strikes me as a very unprofessional thing to do.
If some DBA wanted to really reduce the size of the DB, he could have found a better solution… This will just leave a sour taste, and should events like this one occur in the future, you shouldn’t be surprised if you will bleed players.

You have to create a new account, you can’t login with your old usernames. Once you have done that, it will ask you if you chose to stay with your kd, and if so, you click migrate, and it will then ask you for your old username and password, and your account will be added.

Irrespective of transfer (or even account creation) working or not, which seems to be rather different from person to person, and the results are also rather unclear, shouldnt omac be trying to clarify some if this stuff rather than post some vague messages with conflicting starting times, while the people trying to login figure out all kinds of ways to try and get their kingdoms back together.
If they apparently can’t handle setting up a new age, why’d they switch to a new server right away as well? Allthough I wouldnt go as far as calling them stupid as some above have, I do not think this whole affair is very well thought out, or worked out

In our KD we have not yet seen any problems with migrating the old accs, however we are still seeing other bugs, like the race/pers changes that haven’t taken effect and the trading system that is still not up, we have one guy we like to trade in fast.
another thing that worries me is that the game seems to start in a very short time (and i mean the real age not just the freezetime).
to everyone that still haven’t got it:
1. make a new game account, using the email of your like (could be your plat mail).
2. you will get a mail with a link to activate your account, now click it and you will be able to login to your game account.
3. you here have an option called “migrate” click on it and write your old user and pw from last age, your game account will now be migrated with your old account.
4. you can now login to your account, migrated from last age.
5. there is still some bugs that needs to be fixed, waiting for OMAC, patiently, they are doing a good and hard work, so give them some space please…

Who says they are doing good (and hard) work? Maybe people for whom this new system does work don’t post, but I see a lot of people posting they are alone in a kd, like I am as well, and some even that kd mates who were supposed to ‘migrate’ with them are in different places. Considering I’m not usually the first in the kd, that suggests to me something went wrong. The fact people can login to some account in some kingdom does not mean they were put in the place they chose to be as per the option supplied at the age end.
I would also like to see some kind of explanation why the sign up process needs to be complicated to the level it is now, but that is more out of personal interest.
Meanwhile I’ll just hope they get their act together. If that means restarting or resetting back to the old server, resulting in delay, fine with me but some (accurate) infomation about what is going on and what they are doing to fix the errors would be nice.

Hey guys, I’m with you on this. Some of you are at least getting messages, though. However; the game doesn’t start until the start of Monday (Midnight), so I think that we can all wait a few more hours until these guys (the administrators) can ensure that there are going to be minimal glitches in the game this age. That being said, i am still a little annoyed because I wish to get back in contact with my old KD and start getting my build set up. But it ain’t going to kill me to do it in the morning either. Just be patient and all will be put in it’s right place on time, I’m sure.

I followed the instruction to migrate and login. But it says my province lies in ruin and will be deleted 48 hours after last login.
What’s happening and who can I write to stay in the same KD?

Game News
The game is up now, and has been reset - in-game activation emails will be sent out tomorrow. In light of the delays, freeze time is to be extended for another 24 hours.
The changes posted on the forums have not been put live in-game yet - I wanted to minimise possible complications for the switch - so some of the numbers you’ll see are incorrect at the moment - however, these will all be corrected before protection starts. The new guide is floating around, but it hasn’t been finalised yet, so not all information there is accurate - please see my post for the correct numbers - and note, elves don’t have fog!
Also of note, any provinces currently in the game will not be deleted - the game was reset previously, but won’t need to be reset again.
New Login Process
When you login now, you must first create and login to a master account. Once that is created you then migrate your old province (previously referred to as your account) to your new master account. After this, your province is then accessed via the master account. If you are creating a new province, you must also create a master account, and once logged into that, you create from there.
Step by Step
1) Go to Main page
2) Click Account login
3) Click Sign up (top right corner) and fill in all Fields
- Note that the e-mail address used for your master account will also be automatically used for your province, if a different e-mail address was used for your province previously.
4) Activate via the email sent to you
5a) To create a new province (i.e. not transferring), click Add game account
5b) To trade into a kingdom, click Trade-in
5c) To transfer a province from last round, click Migrate
6) Once you’ve acquired a province by either of the above options, click “Login main account”

It all worked for me migrating to my old kingdom.
I do however have a suggestion. People might have an easier time of it if the white text boxes had a color font other than white. Like maybe black? I had to highlight each box to view what I had typed to make sure it was right.

Moving/Trading Options
Monarch options for account trading/moving are not functional yet - this will be fixed first thing tomorrow. If you experience other problems, please report them on the Bugs forum and they will be handled expediently. Thank you for your patience.

then u get a email sent to u… then u click the link… then u migrate ur account… then u log on ur account and there ur done

Al Bundy - This site may be “free” to the user.. but do not fool yourself that it is anything other than a money maker for the owners. the advertising revenue from the site is likely to be pretty high otherwise they wouldn’t bust their hump in the first place.
And a little more info about the whole “migration” system would have been a better idea than just leaving everyone expecting the same old reset procedure.

Well, so I created a new account, and entered my province name, race/pers. etc. And clicked create. The name was not acceptable because it had spaces in it. So I changed the name to the same thing without spaces. When I clicked create it reset my personallity and race, to human/merchant. So I deleted the account, but now it won’t let me make another because it thinks my email is already tied to an existing game account.

no u dont delete ur account!!!
u go in preferences and reset ur account! then u can fix it from doing that to ur race personality!!!
u go in preferences to reset ur account. resetting ur account only changes ur race and personality stuff.
preferences is where u reset ur account when u are in the game.
i been writing with roisin and he put in my recomindations. the freeze time is extended for another 24 hours now to give more time to get in everyone in the game who is having problems.
and now on the main log on page has the step by step process to get migrated.
if u still have a problem getting in the game write omac a msg saying ur problem and they will solve it.
